A Powerful Source for Good

When one of Missy Ryan's grandchildren needed critical medical treatment, they relied on Packard Children's. That's one of the reasons she supports the Auxiliaries Endowment of the Lucile Packard Foundation for Children's Health. It's also important to her that every dollar given to the Auxiliaries Endowment will keep on giving.

"When you support the Auxiliaries Endowment," says Missy, "every dollar you give is invested, and the earnings are used to support the hospital. This program is not only a powerful source for good, but also an incredible legacy to each and every Auxiliary member who has served or will serve Packard Children's!"

Missy knew she wanted to make a gift to Packard Children's but wasn't in a position to give up income. She found a Charitable Gift Annuity (CGA) a great way to make a commitment to the Auxiliaries Endowment and receive an income.

"With the gift annuity, I will receive a fixed payout for life guaranteed by the hospital, and when I gave my gift, I received a charitable income tax deduction. The Auxiliaries Endowment will receive a distribution when I am no longer here. I like the gift annuity so much that I have executed a few more," says Missy.

If you're still working, you can fund a gift annuity today and schedule to receive payments when you retire. If you're nearing retirement or already retired, you have the option to defer your payments or receive them right away.
